Tangalooma was painted after a family holiday to the beautiful resort.
It was the last time I really walked for any distance. I remember trying to walk from the jetty to the reception in the pouring rain, pausing every few steps to rest. I had no idea what was going on and why I couldnt move. We now know that it was Myasthenia Gravis (MG) that was robbing me of my ability to move.
From a technical perspective this painting comprises of 8L of fluid acrylic paint done in one continuos pour. It took aproximately 1 month in preparation and 3 weeks to dry.
Its only fitting that this painting was my biggest physical challenge, my own personal mountain. I love it and I love myself for all that I over came to paint it.
